Hello everyone,
Thank you for once again reading my blog and showing interest in my life.
Today, I want to share some of the challenges I’ve been facing:
1st: There are an overwhelming number of dogs around me. Every family seems to have at least one, and they bark day and night. Once one starts barking, others join in.
2nd: There’s an animal, possibly a mouse, on the roof that causes annoying sounds and damages it. People here tell me it’s normal and get it fixed temporarily, but the sounds persist.
3rd: Building sites surround the accommodation on all sides. Construction seems to be happening everywhere on Bali, leading to constant noise starting early in the morning till late evening.
4th: Hundreds of crickets chirping all the time.
5th: The flip-flops people wear make loud slapping sounds due to the building’s architecture, amplifying the noise in the rooms.
6th: Pebbles and stone plates on the path create loud bangs when someone walks on them, especially at night, which can be quite startling.
7th: There are kids around, either from tourists or neighbors, and they can be quite loud.
8th: Technical appliances, like the fridge, air-conditioning units, and water boiler, produce constant sounds.
9th: The sound of geckos adds to the background noise.
10th: The water boiler on my side of the roof makes noise every time someone uses water.
11th: The thin walls of the accommodation allow me to hear the neighbors talking, having bed sports, or laughing all night.
12th: Roosters continuously make noise 24/7, with one rooster starting when another stops.
I’m sharing these annoyances not just to vent but to reflect on my reactions and emotions. My lesson from all this is to learn to remain calm and not let these noises bother me. I realize that these sounds are just stimuli, and it’s up to me to decide how I react and whether I let them make me angry or annoyed.
Animals behave like animals, and people act according to their own understanding and perspective. While some neighbors’ behavior is indeed frustrating, I must acknowledge that they have the right to enjoy their holiday, just like I do. Reacting to their behavior will only lead to more conflict, and they may not even realize their actions are bothersome.
I cannot control the external environment, but I can control my own reactions and mindset. Focusing on external factors only wastes energy and won’t bring a real solution. Instead, I choose to focus on my inner self and how I respond to these situations. Our minds play a crucial role in how we perceive and feel about the circumstances we face.
In the end, it’s just a thought or an impulse that determines how we feel. By adjusting our thoughts and perspective, we can find inner peace and harmony amidst the external noise. Letting go of the need to control the outside world can bring greater serenity and happiness.
Thank you for being a part of my journey, and I hope we can all learn to find tranquility in the midst of chaos.
